What is ONSPEED?
ONSPEED is a quick and easy software download that significantly
increases the speed of any Internet connection, anywhere in
the world.
Using a unique and patented compression technology, ONSPEED
increases Dial-up speeds by up to 10 times; Broadband by up
to 5 times and Mobile connections (via GPRS/3G) by up to 8 times.
ONSPEED is:
Is easy to install for PC and Mac; no need
for new hardware
Can be used with any Internet connection in
any country
Works with your existing Internet connection
(Dial-up, Broadband or Mobile connection) and your existing
Internet Service Provider (ISP)
Is used by over 500,000 satisfied customers
throughout the world
How does ONSPEED work
As you cannot physically change the speed of your Internet
connection, ONSPEED uses a technology called Content Sensitive
Compression ('CSC') to individually compress each element of
a web page or email using various compression algorithms based
on a patent approved proprietary technology. The end result
is that your web pages and emails (PC only) load and download
faster using your existing Internet connection.
When your web browser requests a web page, the ONSPEED software
redirects that request to the ONSPEED compression servers. They
take the respective web page content, compress it and send it
back down to the ONSPEED software which decompresses it and
sends it to the browser requesting the information.
ONSPEED offers a unique, patented technology called “Advanced
Imaging”, enabling you to receive fully viewable and instantly
usable web pages, while maintaining the maximum quality of images.
Advanced Imaging delivers all images on a page simultaneously.
You continue to browse web pages while images are being progressively
loaded. Image quality progressively improves until images have
reached lossless quality.
ONSPEED’s dedicated algorithms compress the following elements:
Text
HTML objects
Photo-realistic images (e.g. Compressed and
uncompressed JPEG, PNG, Compressed and uncompressed GIF,
and BMP)
Line art and drawings (e.g. GIF, BMP)
Animated objects (GIF)
Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Macromedia Flash
If a web page or email contains information that is not covered
by a dedicated algorithm, ONSPEED will apply a generic compression
algorithm to that data element.

The easiest way to pay for ONSPEED is via credit / debit card

to go to our payment page.
When you purchase via the ONSPEED website, your card details
are safely transmitted to ONSPEED over a secure connection.
This means that the data is encrypted by your computer and then
decrypted by the ONSPEED servers. No one is able to intercept
and read this information between your computer and our servers.
You can easily ensure that any payment you place online is
secure by making two simple checks. On the ONSPEED web page
when you are asked for your card details, the address that appears
in the browser address bar begins with 'https://', and not 'http://'

the data.

What are ONSPEED's limitations?
ONSPEED speeds up your web browsing and sending and receiving
of emails.
ONSPEED does not increase the size of your Internet connection.
It compresses the data received hence speeding up your web browsing
experience. ONSPEED does not replace your existing Internet
Service Provider (ISP) and is to be used in conjunction with
your existing Internet connection.
ONSPEED will not accelerate browsing over HTTPS (secure websites),
file downloads or uploads such as QuickTime files, MP3, AVI,
MPEG, exes or streaming media content (over FTP or file sharing
programs). ONSPEED will accelerate both compressed and uncompressed
JPEG, PNG and GIF files.
All AOL Users: You can only use ONSPEED
outside of the AOL and Internet Explorer browsers. If you would
like to use ONSPEED for your web browsing, please download an
alternate web browser to surf the web. AOL blocks certain ports
within its browser which make ONSPEED incompatible with AOL
at present. To achieve email acceleration with AOL, you need
to use your AOL web mail through the alternate web browser.
Once you have purchased ONSPEED and downloaded and installed
the alternate web browser, please click here for
detailed instructions on how to configure the alternate web
browser.
For Mac and Pocket PC Users: ONSPEED
will only accelerate your web browsing. Mac and Pocket PC email
acceleration is available only when using a web mail service.
If you do not have web mail, we recommend Web2Mail which
can integrate with your POP3 email accounts.

accelerate Broadband connections up to 2Mb.

ONSPEED works on any Internet connection including:
All analogue Dial-up connections
All digital Dial-up connections
All Broadband connections (up to 2Mb)
All ISDN connections
All Internet connections via your laptop
using a mobile phone connection (via GPRS/3G)
Please note:

Does ONSPEED replace my existing Internet Service Provider (ISP)?
ONSPEED does not replace your existing Internet Service Provider (ISP). It simply sits on top of your existing Internet connection to accelerate web browsing and sending/receiving of emails. You will still continue to pay for your underlying Internet connections charges to your ISP.
Can I use my existing telephone line at the same time as using
ONSPEED?
If you are using a Dial-up Internet connection, your telephone line will continue to be used exclusively for your Internet connection while you are online. Adding ONSPEED on top of your existing Dial-up Internet connection will not give you the ability to free up your telephone line. This is because ONSPEED does not replace your current Internet connection. It makes your existing Internet connection faster.
If you are using a Broadband Internet connection and have added ONSPEED, you will continue to be able to use your telephone line for voice calls while you are online.
Does ONSPEED work in my country?
ONSPEED works in any country worldwide.
However, ONSPEED will not work in certain African and Middle Eastern countries that connect to the Internet via a forced proxy.
Can I use ONSPEED with my mobile phone?
Yes. There are two ways to use ONSPEED with your mobile phone.
If you are accessing the Internet via your laptop using a mobile phone connection (over GPRS/3G), you can use ONSPEED to accelerate your mobile Internet connection by up to 8 times. Also, as you are charged by your mobile provider for the data you upload and download, there is the added benefit that your mobile phone bill will be substantially lowered because of the reduction in data received. This can result in up to a 90% reduction in costs since mobile phone providers charge per Mb downloaded.
If you are surfing the Internet on your
mobile phone, you can install ONSPEED Mobile directly
onto your mobile phone to accelerate your web surfing by up
to 5 times. In addition using unique mobile screen reformatting,
web pages are resized to fit your screen, making them easier
to use and view. ONSPEED Mobile gives you the fastest, easiest
and most affordable way to surf the Internet from your mobile
phone and costs just £19.99 for a 12-month subscription. Click
here to find out more about ONSPEED Mobile at www.onspeedmobile.com.
Does ONSPEED speed up email?
Yes. ONSPEED can reduce the amount of time it takes to send and receive email. ONSPEED accelerates email transparently, so you can use your email program exactly as you normally would.

I have more than 1 computer. Can I use ONSPEED on all of my computers?
Your ONSPEED subscription is sold on a per computer basis. For each computer you would like to use ONSPEED on, you will need an additional ONSPEED subscription.
Can you confirm that ONSPEED does not have any spyware included
in it software?

It is ONSPEED’s policy to never include spyware in any ONSPEED product, or any ONSPEED update.
What kind of support does ONSPEED offer and how do I contact ONSPEED?

team and is a sister company of Net2Roam Ltd the largest Internet
Roaming Provider in Europe.

for a one year subscription. However, please note that you will
still be paying your regular ISP and all those charges will
remain.
How do I know when there is a new version/update of ONSPEED?
Once an update is available, you will be able to download it
by right clicking the ONSPEED icon, select Settings, then Update,
and the Update button will be available for you to click.
ONSPEED for Broadband
ONSPEED Version 5 now works on Broadband connections up to 2Mb. Delivering speed increases of up to 5 times on connections of 512K to 1Mb and about 3 times on connections up to 2Mb. That means you can get even faster web browsing and email speeds, enhancing your existing Broadband connection.
There are a number of factors that affect Broadband speeds and the packages you can get:
Distance from the exchange – the further away you are, the slower the speed you’ll get
Line quality – if your phone line is old or degraded it affects the speed you can get
Contention ratios – as a home user you could be sharing your connection with up to 50 other users at any one time, which means your speed could be up to 50 times slower. While the average ratio is normally much less, this can affect speeds at certain peak times.
So if you want a faster Broadband and you can’t get more than 2Mb, ONSPEED could be the answer.
